So, you’ve nailed down your niche (if not, read Step 1 in this series). Now comes a big decision: choosing the affiliate products and programs you’ll promote. Get this step right, and you’ll build a trustworthy business that earns consistently.

How to Research Programs in Your Niche

Affiliate Marketing, best affiliate programs
  1. Google Search: Type “[your niche] affiliate programs” or “[product type] affiliate programs” to see what’s available.
  2. Affiliate Directories: Use sites like Clickbank, digistore24, or AffiliatePrograms.com to explore opportunities.
  3. Competitor Research: See what other content creators in your niche promote and which platforms they use.
  4. Brand Websites: Many companies list their affiliate programs in their website footer—look for “Affiliates” or “Partners.”

What to Look For

When evaluating programs, focus on:

  • Commission Rates: Higher rates can mean better payouts, but don’t ignore lower rates if the product sells well.
  • Product Quality: Only promote products you believe in and, ideally, have tried yourself.
  • Payment Terms: How often do they pay? Monthly? Weekly?
  • Cookie Duration: Longer cookies mean more time to earn credit for a sale.

Beginner-Friendly Affiliate Networks

These platforms are great for those starting out:

Beginner-Friendly Affiliate Networks
  • ClickBank- Primarily focuses on digital products and direct-response offers, meaning products designed to elicit an immediate response from the target audience.
  • OfferLab-A new affiliate network officially launching in September 2025. OfferLab is a collaborative commerce platform, that allows creators, coaches, and entrepreneurs to sell more by partnering and cross-promoting each other's products and services.
  • digistore24- Affiliates can choose from a wide range of digital products to promote and earn commissions.
  • Amazon Associates- Huge variety of products, great for beginners, but much lower commissions. Recommend using this as an add on to your higher commission products from other platforms.
